High Performance Routing Engine for the 3Com Router 6040 or Router 6080
This Router Processing Unit (RPU) module provides the routing engine for the and .
The RPU functions primarily to process protocols, forward packets and control interfaces, and detect faults. The state monitoring information, such as the operation states of FAN, PWR, and system can be shown directly via the LEDs on the RPU, or reported to the network management system.
The RPU also includes two 10/100BASE-TX ports for local LAN connection, AUX, Console port, 512MB DRAM, 32MB Flash and LED indicators.
This module is required for operation of the Router 6040 or Router 6080.
