3Com® Router 6000 RPU2
High Performance Routing Engine for the 3Com Router 6040 or Router 6080
This Router Processing Unit 2 (RPU2) module provides the routing engine for the 3Com Router 6040 and Router 6080.
The RPU2 functions primarily to process protocols, forward packets and control interfaces, and detect faults. The state monitoring information, such as the operation states of FAN, PWR, and system can be shown directly via the LEDs on the RPU, or reported to the network management system.
The RPU2 also includes two 10/100/1000 ports, one of which is dual-purposed, supporting either 10/100/1000 or an SFP.
