Quick tips:
- Jumper must be set to "master" mode for all EIDE and PATA 3.5" & 5.25" drives (except SATA and 2.5" notebook drives).
- A diagram of the jumper settings can be found on the manufacture's hard drive product label
- Plug in all necessary cable and adapter before turning on power
- Once the drive powers up, plug in the USB cable from the adapter to computer
- Hard drive with existing data will be recognize immediately
- New hard drive must be formatted and partitioned
- Format new drive under XP: Go to Control Panel > Computer Management > Disc Management - Under "Disc 1", Right Click and Initialize. After initializing, Right Click and Format and format wizard will appear. Please follow the wizard instruction to format drive.
